“The issue is not just about reducing the housing
allowance of teachers from KD 150 to KD 60, even
though expatriate and GCC
teachers are feeling the im-
pact of that KD 90 difference in their monthly salary,”
Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“It is more significant to note that they were not given
the opportunity to defend themselves amid all the allega-
tions and suspicions surrounding them. I want to take
out the word “injustice” and so I will say it is a systemic
error arising from many other errors happening in any
institution or sector where the senior officials believe
they are doing the right thing but reverse is the case.
“If there is any vision to improve education, then it
should be done by taking care of that huge segment. I
have been hearing them complain that they are feeling
cheated and unfairly treated. Therefore, it is necessary to
review the contracts while giving everybody their rights
and to change such a policy towards them. Truth be told,
they are the unknown soldiers in that field and their con-
tribution
is clear to everybody except an ingrate.”
