because of bad weather

“The Council of Ministers announced Tuesday through official channels the suspension of work in all ministries and government departments and institu- tions because of bad weather,” columnist Abdulaziz Kuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“This announcement was confirmed by some and denied by others in the social media and some took video clips from the Channel I, to confirm the announcement through the red news bar, a news which was true and confirmed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education announcing the suspension of study in all schools, colleges and insti- tutes of applied education and Kuwait University, upon the instructions of the Council of Ministers because of the bad weather.
“Instead of feeling joy and happiness over the rain which is a blessing from God in all cases, we are used to waiting for such news on TV channels and official means which are always announced late. Fear creeps into the minds of the people – office goers and students – due to poor planning in such situations and the absence of security and safety on the streets and lack of facilities.
“Of course the option of preparedness is ruled out due to the mismanagement which should take the blame and accept responsible instead of attributing our negligence and mistakes to rain and bad weather.
“Heavy rains did not cause the accumulation of water and the large traffic congestion at many round- abouts and highways and main roads, but the deficien- cies and negligence in maintenance and preparations led to these disasters.
“It is a result of mismanagement and degradation in the supervision and lack of ability to foresee and we prepared for the worst from the technical point of view. In the face of successive scandals we tend to put a finger of accusation at another person and end up blaming each other instead of helping solve the prob- lems collectively.
“We must avail ourselves of the opportunity and praise the Ministry of Interior which has exerted tre- mendous efforts beyond its means to fill the shortcom- ings and neglect of many institutions, including the Ministry of Public Works, whose officials had announced that the ministry is fully prepared for the rainy season, but what we were actually treated to floods in many areas of the country.
“The Ministry of Interior continued to provide help and assistance and rescue operations and at the same time warned and cautioned the motorists and appealed to sea goers to stay at home.
“The ministry also published photos and videos in the social media and official websites of places sub- merged under rainwater and informed motorists to change course. It is a praiseworthy work that deserves our appreciation.
“The vision of a ‘new Kuwait’ needs serious action, not just statements of preparations, accusations of bad weather and corruption.
“The phrase ‘bad weather’ should be changed and replaced by gross negligence in the respective govern- ment agencies, poor management and under-prepared- ness which led to the disruption in work in the minis- tries, government departments and other institutions.”

Be rational, build bonds

“WE cannot deny that sometimes pressures affect the life of some people caused by rapid circumstances such as tension, lack of confidence and some verbal skirmishes which occur from time to time between citizens and some expatriates,” columnist Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“These arguments may be sharp criticisms unre- lated to work, but different platforms and social net- working sites are used to put views and criticisms across intended to hurt the dignity of others which peak with accusations of racism and hatred all of which have nothing to do out ethics or our religion or humanity.
“Some comments against the expatriates are hurt- ful – comments such as they are ‘ungrateful’, ‘they eat our food’ and other phrases which may have a negative impact on society in the long run and may even cause us embarrassment at the international level.
“The expatriates in Kuwait came to the country upon contracts, they are sub-
jected to the laws of the land
and no one has done any favor
for them. They are paid for pro- viding services, working for us, taking part in our projects that shall benefit the nation towards progress and prosperity.
prices and hoard goods, to an extent that they even export subsidized items to benefit from the govern- ment subsidy.
“The issue does not end there as one company got allocation for industrial plots for a rent of 100 fils per meter. The company sublets the plots to citizens at KD10 per meter through which it made KD60 million per annum while it pays KD1 million to the government – 100 fils per meter, so it makes a profit of KD59 million.
“When Khalid Al-Roudhan assumed office as su- pervisory minister, the table was turned. He stands on the side of citizens against hoarding by issuing laws that were never issued by any previous minister of commerce and industry in the history of Kuwaiti politics. Most of the former ministers did not even move close to issuing decisions which could pro- voke the ire of traders, but Al-Roudhan issues deci- sions that angers traders and serves the interests of citizens.
“Benefits of the decisions have been manifesting, because it has contributed to reduction in prices of some goods and increased State revenues. Unfortu- nately, the media is unfair to the minister by denying him the right to publish his achievements.”

Kuwaitis who voted them into the National Assembly?

“Yesterday,  we heard that the parliament
Committee for Review of Status of Illegal Citizens has approved bills for granting the Bedoun residents the right to education, medical treatment and issuance of passports, provided they are included in the 1965 cen- sus,” Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“In a statement, Chairman of the committee MP Al-Dousari said the committee members agreed unani- mously that Bedoun residents who are included in the 1965 census should be allowed to study in public schools like the children of Kuwaiti women married to expatriates and soldiers.
“Another member declared that the committee con- sidered the need to make easy procedures for enjoying services and maintaining amenities the country is pro- viding to that segment. These include Hajj and Umra issues over which they held a meeting with officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue deliberation on obstacles that prevent Bedoun residents from perform- ing Hajj and Umra with their counterparts in Saudi Arabia.
“This information became known to the public yes- terday, but the reality is that there have been spates of criticisms concerning the existence of such a commit- tee. Those people believe there should rather have been a committee handling the affairs and rights of citizens. On the contrary, many other people opine that illegal residents are treated unfairly by Kuwaiti government in all entitlements, grants and living standards.
“Truthfully, I don’t know what the feeling of any citizen is towards the committee that is trying to rec- ommend and approve by itself without being commit- ted to Kuwaitis who voted them into the National Assembly? What achievements should citizens expect from such a committee?”

Three men approached in defense of the women

“An incident occurred last Saturday in the Portland City, which is the largest city in the American State of Oregon located at the confluence of River Willamette and River Colombia,” Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“Two young women including a veiled Muslim boarded a train at the Hollywood Station. Their pres- ence caught the attention of a Christian man who approached them and uttered some racial statements such as “All Muslims should die” as well as insults.
“According to the official spokesperson of Portland Police, the suspect was making a lot of noise and mur- muring some words, many of which were regarded as hate-filled and racist.
“Three men approached in defense of the women. One of them was quoted saying, “You can’t deal with them that way as you can see they are young girls.” However, this “Christian” criminal shifted the aggres- sion on the men who were trying to defend the ladies.
“According to Sergeant Simpson, “Eyewitnesses revealed that the man was shouting while attacking the men who were protecting the ladies. Two of them died in the attack while the third one sustained injuries”.
“The attacker had stabbed Namkai-Mech and Ricky John Best, a 53-year old father of four. He was arrest- ed after he stabbed the third victim Micah David-Cole Fletcher, who is still receiving treatment in a hospital.
“Portland’s Mayor commended the three victims, saying other people should emulate their action. He stressed that the current political atmosphere encour- ages racism.
“Namkai-Mech’s mother wrote on her Facebook page that she is proud of her child and he will forever remain a hero for protecting the young women.”

he terrorists are primarily concerned with the reaction of the people and those who follow their activities

“The terrorists are primarily concerned with the reaction of the people and those who follow their activities. They look for support and allegiance and people who sympathize with them rather than their terrorist acts in different parts of the world,” column- ist Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“Here the main issue for the terrorists is how to pro- mote their deeds and win the attention of the media and various segments of the society including senior offi- cials in the government and the decision-makers.
“In order to achieve this goal, the terrorists care- fully select the places of attacks keeping in mind the best media coverage. This is what we saw on Sept 11, 2001, the attack that received extensive media cover- age immediately.
“The media was not only able to portray this ter- rorist action but also enabled people who were in the New York City, residents and tourists alike, to docu- ment it with pictures and videos and personal narra- tions. This event is still influential and its implica- tions are not only on the terrorists, but on the region.
“Indeed, the objectives of the terrorists are not lim- ited to gaining the attention of the masses as much as they aim at proliferation and expansion, and this is the slogan of these criminals. Moreover, they want to publicize their political issues and inform those sympathizing with them as well as the enemies the motives behind these acts of terrorism, this is done through the media and social networking sites.
“Through these sites, the terrorists justify resorting to the ‘Management of Savagery’ and holy violence under the cover of the word of Tawheed (Oneness of God), faith and defense of Islam and Muslims.
“The terrorists resort to justifying their despic- able acts that degrade human dignity and humanity through texts, misinterpretations and in the social media as a tool to reduce the disparity of persuasion and justification between the entity that they fight against, in actual war and ideology on the ground.
“They also create an atmosphere of fear and sus- picion and legalize their atrocious acts. Because of these motivations, the terrorists can carry out their at- tacks legitimately and strategically fully aware of the media impact on almost every segment of society and government officials at almost all levels.
“It is not an exaggeration if I say half of the terror- ist acts are actually committed by the social network- ing website and other media means. Therefore, we find political movements monitoring some accounts of the social networking websites because of their impact not only on the present but also on the future generations.
“We pray to Allah to have mercy on martyr and thinker Faraj Fouda of Egypt who had said terrorism can be confronted through Education, Economy and National Unity.”

We do not accept the idea that the withdrawal of the nationalities was misleading and merely done to satisfy some people

“It is regrettable to read in the media and social net- working websites intentions and statements to reinstate the withdrawn nationalities after making sure that is what the people desire in a kind of bargain and deals situation,” columnist Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“This should have not been the case whatever the justifications and excuses because the issue is sensitive. Such issues should not be thrown to the wind so easily just because the committee which had been tasked to look into the matter is recommending returning the na- tionalities which is large done due to personal interests, making gains and courtesies because this was not what the committee was formed for.
“We are living in a State where every decision is is- sued on the basis of a study and a long-term review not subjected to pressure. If so, then what was the need to form the committee because our decisions overlap the political, security and social aspects of life? Deci- sions should be taken without looking at the priorities of every government official.
“Silence is golden, but now when issues such as these are being looked at because we seem to calm the situation temporarily before returning to square one since the problems then snowball in the midst of chaos and exaggeration, abuse of power because the law is not applied on every violator.
“We do not accept trading in issues at the expense of a citizen. We do not accept the idea that the withdrawal of the nationalities was misleading and merely done to satisfy some people who were intimidating and not due to fraud. This is at least what we hear from the rumors.
“The issue at hand is bigger than withdrawal or re- turning the nationalities of a number of individuals. The subject is related to the dignity of citizens and the nation they live in, it is a question of the rights of citi- zens in their country.
“The application of the law in principle should not be subjected to negotiations or disputes or doubted. No one has the right to threaten people with withdrawal of their nationalities just because the government method of administration and policy was criticized. If it is done to discipline somebody, I do not think the society will accept this.
“Let us be more frank. A lot of positions, especially political, are sold and purchased in exchange for in- terests without resorting to an option that cannot be accepted. Here, I mean the idea of shunning an entire family or individual and keeping them in the dark, striking at the base of the community without convic- tion or concrete evidence to prove the charges against them was the reason for withdrawal of citizenship.
“This is not a trump card with which to gamble, but the fate of a human being either to live in dignity or not. Living in Kuwait is with dignity, existence, entity and value.
“Justice shall not be harmed if a criminal is not pun-
ished as much as if he/she is treated unfairly, freedoms are violated through arbitrary arrests. This is not wis- dom, but a principle and light that guide us on the right path of justice.”

Expatriates were and are partners in the building of our nation

“Expatriates were and are partners in the building of our nation. Therefore, why such negative stances against our expatriate brothers every time there are problems in the country? There is a lack of comprehension and understanding by some amongst us, as they tend to blame expatriates for everything wrong in times like the current period”, Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“They link the current phase with issues that have no basis at all. It does not make sense to place the burden represented by all our problems on those living here illegally or forgers and dual citizenship holders or even the large number of expatriates who are serving and working in their second country.
“Others have deviated from cases such as corruption and waged war on innocent expatriates, insisting that they are the cause for congestion in services and on roads, and that the expatriates are taking up huge part of this country‘s wealth. Why this hate and hostility? Some are even calling for imposing fees on expatriates for the use of roads, increasing fees for their health services and imposing taxes on their remittances.
“They have forgotten that the same expatriates espe- cially the Arabs among them had opened their doors for us during our time of crisis. They welcomed us in their homes with hospitality. We did not feel like strangers with them.
“This ugly racism is not part of the civilized human nature that we grew up with. We were taught to respect others, and that our Arab expatriates are brothers with whom we share very good relations that dates back to hundreds of years.”

ideology of DAESH

“If some of the preachers, scholars and clergymen did not play a role in terrorism, they would have denounced the ideology of DAESH; but to this date, we have not heard them denounce it,” Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“There is none among them who call for combating DAESH and defending Islam, af- ter the image of Islam has been stained and tampered with. Terror operations start and end with claims such as “We are doing this for the sake of Islam.”
“Al-Qaradawi declared that bomb at- tacks against Christians will continue until the Egyptian President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi leaves. This affirms that the “takfir” and kill- ing fatwas are political, not religious driven. There is a special connection between these clergymen and the terrorist organization. This calls for an uprising against religious speeches because, if the political Islam and fatwas are not reformed or eliminated, the series of terror attacks will continue. These scholars keep brainwashing the youths for achieving their political goals and interests in order to ensure the Muslim Brotherhood Group rules Egypt and other countries. Their covetousness is still high and they still have hope in this regard.”

the new Muslims mostly carry out the terrorist operations

“The Islamic State (IS) organization has claimed responsibility for the two deadly explosions at the two churches in Egypt,” columnist Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“Not just that, the organization has issued a state- ment vowing to carry out more attacks against the Egyptian Christians. The two explosions happened in the Saint George’s Church in Tanta and Saint Mark’s Church in Alexandria.
“It is needless to say the two above operations represent the brutality of the terrorists — the opera- tions that claimed the lives of forty-four Egyptians citizens and left behind a trail 126 injured — with 27 killed and 78 injured in Tanta and the rest in Alexandria.
“Meanwhile, the concerned authorities in Egypt declared a state of mourning for three days. President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi ordered the deployment of Army to assist the police to protect the churches and vital government installations and buildings.
“Not just that, el-Sisi also imposed a state of emer- gency for three months pursuant to valid legal and constitutional procedures endorsed by the govern- ment and the Parliament.
“However, the idea of surmounting terrorism looks impossible because the world still witnesses the appearance of new groups sympathizing with the al- Qaeda network. These groups still have some rela- tions with certain Islamic countries and it is difficult for these groups to sever ties with these countries.
“Meanwhile, we have observed that the relevant organizations allege that their terrorist operations in the relevant countries are aimed at subverting secu- rity and stability in the name of protecting the Islamic basics, ignoring the fact that their misguided and terrorist thought has nothing to do with Islam.
“For his part, the expert in fighting terrorist orga- nizations Richard Barit on the BBC Arabic program called ‘Without Restrictions’ says those who have embraced Islam, the new Muslims mostly carry out the terrorist operations and this can be attributed to the fact   that they know nothing about the essence of their new religion, because they are not educated on the culture of this religion and have never lived in any Muslim country.”

ideologies and beliefs are not worthy of emulation

“Leaders cleaving to distorted ideologies and beliefs are not worthy of emulation — except for those who are also sick in ideology and mentality, lacking serious thoughts just like animals that are easy to manipulate, control and convince with any ideology contradicting nature or destructive activities that violate the tenets of Islam,” Abdul-Aziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“The only right ideas that may convince them are the wrong and distorted ideology from those sick people. They live in a special world of darkness with distorted ideology to the extent that they see whoever disagrees with them as unbelievers who deserve the worst possible punishment in the form of killing, maiming or torture.
“Terrorists believe that monstrous acts will bring them close to Allah the Almighty; thus, any society devoid of religion should reform the inadequacies with blood and terror rather than virtue and moderate preaching devoid of violence and intimidation. It behooves countries and their media institutions to wage war against extremist ideologies. They should orientate the youth and pull them from terrorist groups that portend danger to the religion and Muslims.”

about reducing the housing allowance of teachers from KD 150 to KD 60

“The issue is not just about reducing the housing allowance of teachers from KD 150 to KD 60, even though expatriate and GCC
teachers are feeling the im- pact of that KD 90 difference in their monthly salary,” Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“It is more significant to note that they were not given the opportunity to defend themselves amid all the allega- tions and suspicions surrounding them. I want to take out the word “injustice” and so I will say it is a systemic error arising from many other errors happening in any institution or sector where the senior officials believe they are doing the right thing but reverse is the case.
“If there is any vision to improve education, then it should be done by taking care of that huge segment. I have been hearing them complain that they are feeling cheated and unfairly treated. Therefore, it is necessary to review the contracts while giving everybody their rights and to change such a policy towards them. Truth be told, they are the unknown soldiers in that field and their con- tribution
is clear to everybody except an ingrate.”

terrorists and criminals usually take advantage of occasions to carry out at- tacks

“The term ‘Takbeer,’ which means “God is great” and is based on one of the main pillars of Islam, has now become one of the indicators of terror attacks”, Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“Last year, the police force of Manchester City in Britain apologized for the use of the term “Al- lah-o-Akbar” (God is Great) during a training ses- sion that simulated fighting a terror attack inside a shopping mall in one of the suburbs of the city. It had received several criticisms for the use of that term.
“Deputy Head of that police force, whose identity was not disclosed, explained that the scenario for the training was a suicide attack carried out by one of the members of DAESH terrorist organization. During the training, the police force realized that the use of the term “Allah-o-Akbar” is unaccepta- ble because it links Islam to terrorism, due to which they apologized.
“Every Friday, the whole world waits to hear or see unpleasant news about terror attacks in some part of the world because terrorists and criminals usually take advantage of occasions to carry out at- tacks. Social media recently reported that the Head of Paris Police announced the individual who at- tacked the soldier at Louvre Museum had shouted “Allah-o-Akbar” before carrying out the attack.”

They launched an atrocious terrorist operation that shook the Egyptian street,

“Intellectual terrorism of Islamists is being trans- lated on the ground any time of every day in every place. This is what we saw in
Egypt when Islamist terrorism hit a supposedly safe church where harm- less people go for worship. All Egyptians love this church, while the Islamists did not respect the feel- ings of Egyptians, Muslims and Christians. They have gone too far in their transgression and tyranny as they launched an atrocious terrorist operation that shook the Egyptian street,” columnist Abdulaziz Kh- reibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“The bombing of the ancient Coptic Christian Church — adjacent to the cathedral on Dec 12, 2016 — during Christian celebrations towards the end of the calendar year targeted the security and stability in Egypt on one hand, and aimed at igniting sectarian and religious strife between Muslims and Christians on the other hand.
“The bombing killed more than 20 people and wounded 40 others, most of them women. This cowardly act reflects the meanness, backward cul- ture and ignorance of murderers who are definitely members of the Muslim Brotherhood — the banned terrorist group in Egypt — in retaliation for the posi- tions of this valiant community (Christians) on is- sues concerning the nation in general, and towards Egypt in particular.
“Those who carried out that heinous act look a lot like Islamist terrorists of DAESH and other groups. We do not rule out the involvement of the ‘Secret Service’ of the bankrupt Muslim Brotherhood.
“The blast in Al-Haram (Pyramids) on a Friday in front of a mosque claimed the lives of six Egyptian soldiers two days before the bombing of the church, as well as the assassination attempt of a Mufti in Egypt, are closely related to them and their ideology. Ignorant extremists and terrorists accuse anyone, who does not agree with them, of non-belief and in- fidelity, similar to what DAESH and sisters do.
“These criminals, murderers and terrorists are killing innocent and unarmed people who have pure hearts that are originally with peace, Islam and Mus- lims. The Copts of Egypt are integral parts of the wealth of the country. Some of them are intellectuals and thinkers. Their ancestors fought, along with Sal- adin, against the Crusaders as some of them served Islam in the past and still serve the Arab and Islamic nations, in addition to having great respect and gen- erosity for all human beings.
“This Islamist terrorist attack was aimed at push- ing for the return of the criminal Brotherhood to power and rule that they lost through the fall of one of their leaders, as well as to avenge for another lead-er who died in the hands of brave Egyptian security forces.
“We are waiting for a firm stand and direct con- demnation from clergymen first, before the people in charge of taking political decision against terrorists. Otherwise, these terrorists will continue to think they are doing well and are serving humanity. Intellectual terrorism is a crime against humanity. Damn terror- ism.”

No place for a disloyal MP

This organization is against the human

“The so-called ‘DAESH’ organization has difficul- ties understanding, translating and justifying texts. Since they do not use Islamic schools of law as refer- ence, they have created their own religion, beliefs and methods of worship and dealings,” columnist Abdul- Aziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahid daily.
“This organization is against the Arab Islamic and Gulf social structure, specifically Kuwait. Its members have their own political interests and in the service of others who do not want peace and stability for the GCC countries, particularly Kuwait.
“Therefore, having sympathizers for this group amongst us is a grave danger at all levels, because we are one and Allah will not judge us based on our reli- gious affiliations. For those amongst us who still feel the urge to join this group, they should think twice before it’s too late. The bloodshed and destruction that you cause are not for religious purposes, they are for personal agenda. Moreover, the blood is for your brothers and sisters in humanity, before you even be- came brothers and sisters in the name of religion.”

Stick to basic principles of Islam

“FIGHTING sectarianism requires significant and persistent efforts from individuals, the community, and the various State authorities, institutions and edu- cational and cultural sectors to contain this menace,” columnist Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily.
“But casting doubts and insulting the followers of a doctrine and religion or practicing violence of the Islamic State (IS) or the so-called ‘DAESH’ and the brutality adopted by this group to kill others, will cer- tainly not help solve the current sectarian dilemma.
“In this regard, history has taught us that when we impose a specific idea, opinion, doctrine or re- ligion on others, we achieve nothing but help pro- mote struggles and these struggles then develop into bloody conflicts and wars among various compo- nents of the society.
“Meanwhile, we would like to pinpoint here that the basics in Islam are too obvious because this sub- lime religion always calls for unity of the nation as long as the components of the nation are committed to the basic constituents, and this means the sub top- ics which recognize one sect from the other, can be ignored, particularly since we know the crucial reli- gious text emphasizes the significance of achieving unity and cooperation among Muslims.
“But using sectarian terrorism to serve a specific doctrine during a specific time and under specific circumstances to achieve political purposes will only create disharmony and promote discord and kill citi- zens in the particular community.
“In this context, we have observed how some peo- ple manage their commercial interests by promoting sectarian slogans, attempt to brainwash people and help sow the seeds of hostility
and hatred in the society.

“In other words, the people instead of ingraining faith and remaining committed to reli- gious values and promoting them in society, actually pro- mote religious hypocrisy which does not serve any denomina- tion in Islam.
“It is needless to say Islam is
built on basic pillars and there
is no need to undermine the im-
age of this sublime religion by
inserting some strange ideas into it to aggravate the dogmatic problems which have developed as a result of undue pressures and wrong practices.

“In this respect history has taught us that the prob- lems cannot be easily solved. Such being the case, we have no choice, but to abide by the text of the Holy Quran and the sublime Sunna of Prophet Muham- mad, Peace Be Upon Him.
“The need of the hour is to update the religious address and many authorities are seriously striving to realize religious reforms and promote thought through religious sermons, symposiums, curriculum and modern books to keep abreast with the contem- porary developments away from the historic con- flicts.
“Apart from the above, we have to keep in mind the importance of actualizing the common thoughts which all components of the nation agree upon to protect the sects and their doctrines from others, pro- vided this recognition does not constitute a ground for differences and conflicts among various compo- nents of the nation.
“In this context, we say the difference over certain issues, is a humanitarian case that is always inherent to humans everywhere, because of some difference in thought and tendencies and this calls for tolerance and harmony.
“Such being the case, stirring the differences among various components can never be justified and this means the people must deal with each other through the spirit of tolerance and protect the rights of every individual in the community without any type of prejudice, since this shall represent an ideal manner to encounter global terrorism.”

Terrorism creation of DAESH’ Muslims unite, protect religion’

“THE acute struggle and the tense atmosphere in
both Syria and Iraq shall pave the way for a ‘holy
violence’ in the long run and the accompanying
violence will have a broader dimension to reshape
the entire region on sectarian basis,” columnist
Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote for Al-Shahed daily
Tuesday.
“It is needless to say sectarian terrorism is currently
threatening the region and unless it is encountered
in the right perspective the accompanying
problems will aggravate and this will not help
anybody in this part of the world.
“In this connection, we refer to some valuable
adages about the variety of sects, doctrines and
religions in one country. One of these adages say,
‘The different sects represent grace, but sectarianism
brings disgrace’.
“The Lebanese philosopher Jibran Khalil Jibran
said ‘woe to the nation which has a lot of sects and
doctrines but is void of religion’. In this context,
we would like to point out that the religion represents
a collective factor and the commitment to
the same is a duty and nobody can snatch this right
from anyone in the realm of commitment to the
very existence.
“In other words, the followers of every sect and
doctrine reserve the right to existence. Each sect
and doctrine reserves the right to have its own characteristics
and nature and nobody
will be allowed to snatch
this right of existence or marginalize
the same.
“Apart from the above, nobody
will be allowed to cast
doubts on this right or terrify
people to refute the religious and
doctrinal beliefs in the name of
defending Islam. In other words,
worshipping Almighty Allah
cannot be done by disobeying
Him. We must keep in mind that
Satan is working to misguide the Muslims.
“Such being the case, handling the complicated
problem of sectarianism, cannot be realized
through hopes but through moderation that can be
adopted by those who lean toward sectarian tendencies,
because this is not moderation, but individual
manner of thinking and doesn’t exceed a
self dialogue without reaching to any type of acceptable
outcome under an atmosphere of accusations
and doubts.
“Consequently, we suggest that the nation is in
an imperative need of trustworthy scholars and officials
from various sects who carry the weight and
are trusted by the people in their respective sects
before discussing the differences among these sects
and come out with common viewpoints related to
various issue and then issue a joint communiqué to
keep the people fully aware of what is happening
and eventually enable them to realize that there is
no difference among Muslims who are represented
by their various sects and doctrines.
“Not just that, the suggested communiqués
should tell the public that Muslim sects and doctrines
are in agreement over a lot of issues and
the differences revolve only around minor issues
where Muslims can deal leniently with each other
over these things.
“Such being the case, fanaticism to which some
Muslim extremists are linked deal with other Muslims
in the most unjustifiable manner at a time
when all Muslims must show keenness to protect
their religion.
“It is needless to say extremism and terrorism is
the creation of DAESH and people who promote
similar ideology and those who harbor hostility
against humanity in the name of defending Islam
although no Muslim has authorized them to do so
or practice terrorism under false slogans and carrying
out suicide attacks.”

The Arabs and Muslims suffer from complicated dogmatic problems

“The Arabs and Muslims at the
moment suffer from complicated
dogmatic problems which have
been forced upon them and understanding
the construal of the relevant
texts in addition to abusing the
same and this means those in charge
(senior state offi cials) must be invited
to set up a clear cut strategy to
fi ght sectarianism and terrorism simultaneously
instead of waiting for
the subverting thought of the terrorists
and extremists to gain ground
and uproot sedition, particularly
during the religious occasions,” columnist
Abdulaziz Khuraibet wrote
for Al-Shahed daily Thursday.
“As a matter of fact, the ‘contemporary
terrorists’ have gained
a lot of professional expertise that
qualifi es them to recruit the same
to convince any human being of
their beliefs, particularly those who
tilt to keep in line with their whims
and ideology based on committing
crimes in the name of defeating the
terrorist organizations in the name
of defending Almighty Allah and
the believers.
“In other words, these organizations
are ready to kill anyone who
does not tow their line. They don’t
actually fi re shots or plant bombs
randomly to target some individuals,
rather they kill and instigate
others to kill to continue with their
terrorist activities while at the same
time casting doubts on the reputation,
honor and though of any communal
component that may threaten
their very existence and expansionism.
“In this context, we say those
who promote sectarianism are always
involved in agitating terrorism
through Satellite TV channels and
social media. Not just that, those
who get involved in dialogue allege
that dialogue among the various
doctrines and religions was methodically
designed to recruit the terrorists
to defend the fatwas (edicts)
which called for murder, terrorism
and trading in religion by promoting
fanaticism and extremism and global
terrorism whose job is to strike at
the vital installations of the nations.
“It is needless to say promoting
sectarianism in a specifi c country is
actually aimed at serving terrorism
and the organizations which embrace
the call for ‘sacred violence’
and brainwashing the youth.
“In other words, the tools of the
terrorist organizations are no longer
confi ned to military weapons and
terrorist plans, rather they mostly
depending on certain ideas which
are easy to convey to others in any
community and at any time in order
to reach a phase under which
the task of fi ghting this misguided
thought will be too diffi cult.
“In this connection, we suggest
fi ghting terrorism foremost rests in
cutting the throats and muting the
voices of those who promote sectarianism
and those who exploit the
social media in particular to promote
their thoughts.
“Not just that, they also exploit
doctrinal and religious differences
to instigate murder and terrorism to
serve the selfi sh interests and surmounting
humanity at large.”
